Diode Test Equipment
302338
Dimensions
The diode test equipment is connected to each side of the two diodes. The tester is operated by commercially available batteries. Two flip dots indicate the status of the diodes and of the batteries. In adjustable intervals of 1 day over a maximum of 7 days, a test impulse is sent through the diodes. At proper functioning of the diodes, the corresponding flip dot is black.
In case of a negative test result, detecting a faulty diode, the test will be repeated after a couple of minutes. If the result is confirmed, the flip dot - well apparently from the ground - will change to red. Faulty measurements are no longer possible. The early identification of a faulty diode is supported and unnecessary abrasion on the section insulator is avoided.
The yellow flip dot will indicate a low battery load of the device, so that the battery will have to be replaced shortly. As function of the set time interval, the battery durability may well exceed 1 year.
Material and weight
The device will be mounted at a distance of a couple of meters from the section insulator on a crosspan or something similar. A direct assembly to the section insulator is not recommended due to the built-up of magnetic fields and sparks.
The following mounting variants are available:
- on the tube (D70): C2336-03
- on the parafilament rope: C2336-02
- on the suspension rope: C2336-01
